The emergence of a major industry Expo for Britain and Ireland, which celebrates our world-respected airports network and provides a platform for the community to come together to plan and seek inspiration on its next moves, is long overdue.
We are very proud and excited to host the British-Irish Airports EXPO here in Birmingham in June, where national, regional, hub and military airports take equal billing, and where an invaluable dialogue between industry stakeholders and the sector’s leading suppliers can take place in an exciting event environment. The British-Irish Airports EXPO is set to break the mould of what we have come to expect from industry shows thanks to the progressive ambitions and collaborative mindset of the event organiser – PPS Publications and Events, which has worked in the UK airport sector for almost 25 years.
The dynamic, free-to-attend exhibition will provide an invaluable showcasing platform for leading airport industry suppliers from across the British Isles and beyond, and pricing will ensure the presence of not just the industry’s biggest names, but also the small and medium enterprises, whose role is just as important in driving industry progress. In addition to the largest expo of its kind anywhere in the region, the British-Irish Airports EXPO will include a major conference stage where the nation’s gateways will share their experiences in every aspect of airport operation and development, and we here at BHX will be facilitating airport tours and an Evening Party showcasing the best cuisine, drinks and entertainment that the West Midlands can offer.
To industry suppliers, I encourage you to get behind this Expo and ensure we have an exciting exhibition floor with the latest products, equipment and services on display, so we airports can see under one roof the best the market has to offer. And to my airport counterparts, I encourage you to mark your diaries now and begin planning your involvement, as only when the industry comes together en masse for a period of some days can we enjoy meaningful conversations, networking and learning opportunities that can help with our progress forward as individual airports, and as an industry.
It really will be a great time to welcome you to Birmingham – a diverse and dynamic city brimming with culture – and for you all to take another look at our airport, which thanks to the completion of a major package of infrastructure works, is undoubtedly prepared for future growth.
